Harmony, and the enjoyment of it

Waraku is written 和楽 — wa, harmony, and raku, enjoyment. It is the whole idea behind the restaurant, and the reason the little forest spirit on our sign is smiling.

The sushi bar works to order: nigiri cut for one plate at a time, signature rolls finished with caviar, gold flake and seared wagyu. The kitchen runs alongside it, so one table can share ramen, a katsu set, a chirashi don and a bento without anything arriving cold.

We are in the Safeway plaza where Braddock meets Twinbrook, three minutes from George Mason. Free parking, no fuss, and an allergy-aware kitchen that would rather you ask.
